How to export your Generic CSV CSV and import it into OpenFolio

Import a standard trade CSV when your broker is not listed directly. Follow the export and import steps for OpenFolio.

By OpenFolio Support

Use this guide to export your Generic CSV records and bring them into OpenFolio. These steps reuse the current OpenFolio integration instructions so the guide stays aligned with the supported importer.

Export from Generic CSV

  1. Open your broker or portfolio platform.
  2. Find the trades, orders, activity or transaction export area.
  3. Set the date range you want to export.
  4. Download the trade history as a CSV file.
  5. Check the file includes ticker, date, side, quantity, price and currency columns.

Import into OpenFolio

  1. Sign in to OpenFolio.
  2. Go to Portfolio, then Shares.
  3. Choose Import trade CSV.
  4. Select Generic CSV.
  5. Upload the file.
  6. Review the parsed preview and confirm the import.

Before confirming the import, review the parsed preview carefully. Check dates, tickers, quantities, prices, currencies and fees so your holdings and tax records start from clean source data.
