OpenFolio is built for Australian investors who want their trade, dividend, crypto and tax records in one place. Start by signing up with Google, then use the dashboard as your home base for portfolio value, holdings, realised gains, income and reporting links.
After signing in, keep your first setup small. Add one broker CSV, one crypto export, or one manual holding before importing everything. A small first pass makes it easier to confirm that tickers, quantities, prices, fees and currencies are being read the way you expect.
Add your first records
For shares and ETFs, the fastest path is usually a broker trade CSV. OpenFolio reads your buy and sell history, then builds holdings and tax records from the transactions. For crypto, you can import exchange history or connect where an integration is available. Dividends can be tracked so income and franking credits stay visible beside your portfolio and tax records.
If you only want to test the product first, add a holding manually and come back to imports later. Manual entries are useful for a quick portfolio snapshot, while transaction imports give OpenFolio the detail needed for cost base and CGT calculations.
Find the main areas
The dashboard gives you the high-level view: total portfolio value, allocation and recent movement. Portfolio areas hold your shares, ETFs, crypto and dividends. The tax area is where realised gains, losses and CGT method comparisons live. Reports are designed for year-end review and accountant-ready summaries.
Once your first records look right, continue with the remaining broker and exchange exports. Review each parsed preview before confirming so the source data stays clean from the start.
